The purpose of the course is to introduce the ESD procedure in the colon and rectum to all regions in Denmark as a viable alternative to colorectal segment resection, where endoscopic resection is the preferred treatment. The dedicated endoscopic centers will have knowledge and experience to start up the procedure at their hospitals.
The target participants are surgeons and gastroenterologists with advanced skills in flexible GI endoscopy, and participation from each region in DK is prioritized.
The aim is also to develop a closer community of advanced lower endoscopy in Denmark and Scandinavia and give us the opportunity to visit and learn from each other.
The participants will:
• learn the basic strategies for colorectal ESD
• have insight into equipment of the endoscopy room to be able to perform ESD
• get hands-on training in basic ESD on live models
• get training in underwater ESD, traction, gravity-assisted positioning and tunneling
