Dr. Mark Jackson Chairman
Mark qualified in Medicine from Oxford University in 1980 and worked in hospital medicine and General Practice until 1997. In 1992 he was a cofounder of Helphire Group plc, a financial services company which was listed on the LSE in 1997. In 2003 he cofounded the Assura Group plc a healthcare property and services Company which is also fully listed. Mark has come on board as the Chairman of Creo Medical, where he will use his experience in Healthcare, Financial Services and the Support sectors to help develop and grow the business.
Dr. Chris Hancock Chief Executive Officer and Founder
Chris Hancock founded MicroOncology in 2002. His background is in electronics research, design and development and has a PhD in electronic instrumentation and system development. In 2002 he founded MicroOncology to develop his ideas relating to cancer treatment systems based on new high frequency components and ideas for controllably generating energy for treating and measuring the state of a range of solid tumours within the human body. Over the past 6 years, the company has successfully developed a number of systems based on his ideas. To date, MicroOncology has been awarded 3 innovation grants and was the prime subcontractor on the largest NHS research and development grant for non imaging systems under the Health Technology Devices scheme. Chris is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Chartered Scientist, Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and a Chartered Engineer and a Senior Member of the IEEE. He was given an Honorary Research Fellowship at UCL in 2003 for work on therapeutic systems.
Steve Morris Operations Director and co-founder
Steve has over 15 years of experience of managing complex projects and programmes in the Defence sector. He was selected to lead two Integrated Project Teams for the Ministry of Defence, and led the team that won the Defence Procurement Agency's team excellence award in 2006. He has been responsible for delivering major projects on time and within budget to the Royal Navy as well as successfully satisfying Urgent Operational Requirements for the British Army. An Engineer by profession, Steve is a member of the IET and the Association for Project Management. Steve is now responsible for driving project delivery for Creo Medical.
Phil Hales Sales and Marketing Director
Phil has twenty years of experience gained from within the medical device industry, mostly with radio frequency products. He was the Electrosurgery Product Manger with Eschmann Equipment before joining Gyrus Medical, where he became Vice President of the Far East Division before returning to the UK as General Manager for Sales, Marketing and Distribution. He is currently driving the market evaluation and promotion of Creo Medical technologies.
Brian Howlett Strategy Advisor
Brian retired from his position as CEO of AIM-listed Lombard Medical in 2009, and brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the medical device industry.
Brian was General Manager at Boston Scientific Ltd (1999-2005),. Brian was also Managing Director of COBE Laboratories (now Caridian BCT) for 12 years and held senior positions at FISONS Plc.
Francis Amoah Product Design Director
After a successful career with Emerson Electric culminating in a three-year tenure as Design Manager for Uninterruptable Power Supplies, Francis joined Gyrus Medical in 1997 as Design Engineering Manager, rising to become R&D Director for Technology in 2004. During his 12 years with Gyrus (1997 to 2009), he designed a range of highly competitive Medical Device products delivering Radio Frequency Energy into patient tissue, and held key roles during the successful transition of the company from the pre-IPO stage into a FTSE 250 company.
